Cake Balls

So these are my all time favorite thing that I learned from Amy. They are pure Deliciousness. To make them can be a little time consuming but a lot of fun. Ashley and I made this batch for our book club on the 9th. We read Twilight and so I wanted to use red chocolate to make them look like the book cover. Sometimes I think I over think things... Anyway, This is how to make them so you can all enjoy them!
1. Follow the directions to make a yellow or chocolate cake mix in a 13x9 pan.
2. Allow the Cake to cool (this step is very important. The cooler it is the easier it is to work with)
3. Take the Cake out of the pan and crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
4. Add a tub of frosting to the crumbled cake making sure that it is fully and evenly covered. A wooden spoon works best for this step but you hands are more fun.
5. Scoop out in 2 Tbsp balls and roll till smooth and round.
6. Place balls on to waxed or parchment paper and let them dry (if you don't wait till they are dry they fall apart in the chocolate)
7. Dip each ball into melted Almond bark or other similar candy coating. Chocolate chips don't work!
6. Place covered ball back on to paper and let dry. If you want you can add sprinkles while the Almond bark is still a little wet or wait till they are all dry and use a contrasting color to make swirls.

I agree, they are absolutely pure deliciousness! Thanks for sharing the recipe with us all! Oh and hey! I tried not wating for the cake to cool and mixed it immediately with frosting and formed into balls as soon as it came out (i read it online)... and it seemed to work just fine... but it is sill crucial to let it dry out when they are in balls before dipping. But anyway, saves a ton of time not waiting for the cake to cool... you should try it next time! love ya girl! Thank amy for all of us!

This is Matt. Britt used chocolate chips and they worked. They were pretty darn good too! I ate a complete set on my own in about a week.

they Chocolate Chips work in a bind but they don't melt as evenly as Almond Bark does and then you have to remelt and it's more inconvenient that and real chocolate has a tendency to turn ashy looking after being melted. best results come from Almond Bark. Also it may save time to not let the Cake cool but it makes a bigger mess on your hands and you lose more of the frosting if you don't let it cool. Also you are more likely to burn your self.

Yuk. I hated Twilight. The main character is an annoying bimbo and all the author does with the plot is send it in a huge circle. It's really dumb. That's my opinion anyways! I know most people love it. :P Chaela says, "Yeaeeeyagaaoow."
