Slidding Away

Jason, Lindsay and I went sledding Saturday night. After about 6 inches of snow Linds and I decided we HAD to get out into it. We headed up to Rock Canyon Park with as many layers as we could find and our trusty cardboard boxes. Shortly after we arrived, however, we discovered that it was the wrong type of snow for cardboard to work! We were disappointed but eager to have as much fun as we could. About 10 minutes after we started a little boy came up to us with a sled and said "My mom said it would be OK if you used my sled instead of wet cardboard." Bless his little heart (and his mom's big one)! We had a lot more fun on the real sled but only had one! Jason volunteered to go get us sleds at Target but we had to promise not to be cold and worn out when he got back. While he was gone Linds and I had some fun sledding but after a while the kid came for his sled back and we went down by the parking lot and made a snowman! I had never really made an "official" snowman before (you know, one with a face and buttons and even a scarf). I was so much fun! When Jason got back we moved to the steeper hills and had a LOT of fun on our new sleds (well saucer and sliding mats). I think I got the 10 point dismount though when I hit a bump and went head over heels down the rest of the hill landing on my neck and cracking it in three places then hitting my tail bone HARD. I am so sore today but it was definitely worth it! When we were all soaked (well really I got the wettest because I was the only one with out ski pants on) we came back to my apartment and had hot coco and watch a Christmas movie. Saturday was one of the best days I've had in a very long time. I was so HAPPY!
This is me stuck in the sled after pulling most of the snow down the hill with me. It was really wet under the snow so it would all just slip off the grass underneath even though there was a good 6 inches up there.
Lindsay an our snowman! Isn't he handsome? He even has curly blond hair! It's OK that our snowman wore my pink scarf right?

Looks fun. I'm glad that you got to enjoy that snow. Remember how much fun this is when it snows in March and you're thoroughly tired of the white stuff by then.
Love you lots, Mom
