Skiing!!!

Last weekend I went skiing for the first time in 12 years!! I think considering that, I did very well. I only went down green slopes but It was quite fun. I wasn't even that scared when I went off a cliff! That's right, I got overly confident on my third time down the mountain and was going WAY to fast for my skill level. I got to a sharp turn and I just knew that I wasn't going to make that turn. So I tried to make myself fall before I got to the edge... That just made me go off the edge butt first instead of head first (really probably safer, because then the tree that stopped me from going all the way down the mountain could cradle me instead of kill me). It was quite amusing being stuck there. Luckily I went off the cliff maybe forty feet from the Snowbasin Ski team (who were all about 11) and all VERY eager to help! One of my skis was stuck between the mountain and the tree in an awkward angle so they couldn't get it off alone, one of their instructors had to come and help get it off. then it was up to me to climb the crumbling slope of snow back to the slope. That was really the scariest part because I thought I wasn't going to get back up when the snow kept pushing me farther down, but I used the tree as footing and made it up unscathed. Sure my addrenaline was pumping fast and that made me a little shaky but I got right back up on my skis and kept on going! I was so proud of myself! I'm way excited for my sister-in-law, Janet's birthday ski get together on the 7th of March because I am SO ready to get back up there and ski some more! This time I'll be back at Brighton where I've skiied more than anywhere else in my life! Now I've just got to find a cheap lift ticket!
